Bermuda Shorts # 4

This was originally sent on 5-19-08:

Well Everybody - It's Monday morning and we land in Bermuda this afternoon. Can't wait to see the beautiful island!!! We didn't do much yesterday except what I'll tell you next. Ben and I decided that the Captain sounds somewhat like Elmer Fudd, so we get the giggles everytime he makes an announcement. We napped twice and read a lot and generally had a laid back time.

BUT, Y'ALL ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!! We were sitting out by the pool yesterday having lunch and who should walk by but my cousin George and his wife Vicki along with their friends Jim and Dot!! We couldn't believe it!!! They had left home in Tenn. on Wednesday morning heading for Charleston and the cruise to Bermuda. They had no clue that we would be on the cruise - and vise versa. I didn't write my "Cruisin' Again" letter telling everybody that we were going on this trip until Wednesday night. Then, George checked his e-mail sometime Friday. He saw that we were going to be on the cruise with them and they had been looking for us since boarding. We had dinner with George and Vicki last night and had a nice time of catch up. Although we've sent e-mails back and forth, we hadn't seen them since my niece Ginger's wedding to the lovely Tripp - what? 4 or 5 years ago? So, it was very good to visit!
After dinner, we went to the Royal Fireworks which is a bar / small theater. First we were entertained by The Dreamers, two French Canadians who played oldies and were very good. Then Sam Griesbaum, the comedian we had seen the night before, came on. He was really funny and we had a good time there. Then off to bed to make up for the fact that we'd only had a couple of naps yesterday. Cruising is hard work, but somebody has to do it!!!! When we got to our cabin, the steward had left us a little elephant made out of hand towels.

This is the elephant we found in our room last night!!
